Description
This is the beautiful village of Castle Combe in the heart of Wiltshire England. This very beautiful and stunning location is often used for period films. It is Ranked No. 2 in The Times's 30 best villages, it is renowned for its attractiveness and tranquillity, and for its fine buildings including the medieval church. Such films as Stardust, The Wolfman, Doctor Dolittle, Agatha Christie's Poirot and Steven Spielberg's production of War Horse where all film using this location.
For this shot I was blessed with a very rare warm sunny summers day, So I grabbed my gear and of I went.
It is always hard shooting in pure sun and still retain detail in the photograph, so much skill was needed for the timing of the shoot not only for where the sun sits on the shot but also to avoid all the swarms of tourists.
I wanted a image that fit all the elements together that where of great interest to me such as the reflection of the water, church in the distance, the bridge and of course the beautiful old houses. Much time was spent on the composition of this shot to make it work the way I wanted.
