I had to wait for many years for this picture of Bibury in the Cotswold's as a good measure of snow in the South West of England does not come often. I love this image in so many ways, maybe because it's quite personal to me? by this I mean I remember at the time all the smiles on the faces I met that day, everyone just seemed to be enjoying themselves. Maybe becouse it was a free day of work? who knows? but one things for sure we don't get Snow often in the south west of England not like times of old so people make the most of it when it comes...as yet it has not become so common that it has became a nuisance.
If you look closely in this image you can see what I mean as in the background there are people enjoying themselves having a snowball fight. There is a stunning 'photo bomber' in this image by way of a beautiful Heron proudly standing on the bridge waiting for his/her dinner. I think the stunning animal really adds to the scene.
Around Christmas time I love to...
Face book fan page facebook.com/JohnChiversPhoto Hi and welcome I have always loved visual creation. I have education in photography although it was film based back in the 90's, this set up a good foundation. I returned to the Art world and sought my B.A. Hons degree from The Art's Institute at Bournemouth England. I returned to photography more out of interest for this 'new' digital technology. I Chanel my creative vision through this medium. Many Thanks John

I would say "excellent as always, John," but that would minimize your eye, your soul, and your imagination. I must admit that your work here does most closely approximate my mind's idea of how Christmas must be in England - never getting past 1900. As for your errant Heron: Thwarted in his planned holiday on The Isle of Wight due to the inclemency of the surprise snow, he stood watch on the bridge, holding himself to a certain standard of dignity as the lesser creatures, those plodders on the snowy ground, did burn away their energy while apparently trying to catch balls of snow with their heads. He had initially take perch near one of the chimneys until the frozen missiles started. He then felt that his best vantage point was further down the path upon the bridge. There was no shame in the movement, for the potential of a meal was of greater value than the moderate warmth shared by the chimney. At least that is what he mumbled to himself as he say shivering at his post. Keep finding and holding these images, John. This is Fantastic!

Hi Steve, it's been a long time my friend hope all is well with you and gland to hear from you again. What a delightful comment and fully enjoyed reading it. To make a complete story based on one of my images has to be one of the best complements anyone could receive! Thanks you for your time and incredible words of kindness towards my work. It's wonderful to know that this image has touched you in such a unique and profound way. Cheers :D
